Children suffering from chronic nasal airway obstruction, persistent sleep disruption, and paroxysmal sneezing often develop mucosal fragility from the long-term use of corticosteroid nasal sprays. This fragility frequently manifests as recurrent epistaxis (nosebleeds) and painful mucosal crusting. The primary biological target for reducing this airway resistance lies within the lamina propria of the inferior turbinates, where chronic eosinophilic infiltration and overactive mast cells maintain a state of tissue edema.
