Hemorrhoids, often known as piles, a common condition affecting millions worldwide, can cause discomfort and pain. Hemorrhoids are classified into two types: internal, located inside the rectum, and external, under the skin around the anus. They result from increased pressure in the lower rectum due to straining during bowel movements, obesity, or pregnancy, leading to bulging or swollen veins.
Laser energy is directly delivered into the hemorrhoidal pile by radial fiber, which is used to thermally close off the veins nourishing this abnormal growth from the inside.
