Postoperative Achilles Tendon Recovery with Class 4 Laser Therapy Machine for Pain Relief

Patient:

Male, right Achilles tendon ruptured in June when playing football. Repaired surgically on June 20th. Presented six weeks postoperatively with limited ankle dorsiflexion angle and ankle joint swelling.

Evaluation:

Six weeks post right Achilles tendon suture, with observed ankle joint swelling and lower limb muscle atrophy.

Treatment Plan:

  1. Manual therapy to loosen calf/ankle muscles and scar tissue.
  2. Physical therapy intervention:
    • Targeted class 4 laser therapy for Achilles tendon scar and ankle swelling using a high-power laser therapy machine (parameters below).
    • Functional training to strengthen lower limb muscles.
